The Herald Sun Summer Reading Guide Dec 31, 2023 [...]
A guide to travelling in Northern France and walking in the footsteps of our Anzac forefathers. It was while holidaying in Paris, that Tania Farrelly found the inspiration for her novel, War Of Hearts, set at the end of The Great War. And it was into the footsteps of Australian diggers, and allied espionage networks that she trod, in her subsequent research trip opening her eyes to stories of brave civilian spies and a long forgotten moment in Anzac history, that is writ large on the walls of a primary school in the small village of Villers-Bretonneux.
